Partying Mommy?

This past week and weekend was filled with a lot of fun! On Tuesday I had my cousin Sara's bachelorette party and I was out until 2am! We we're of course safe and had rented a limo for the evening. We hit all the bars in Sac that we could. It was extremely fun, but the next morning I was feeling a bit tired.

Then this Friday we had Sara's wedding to Tyler. Nate's parents came and baby sat and we we're out late again, but it was fun and worth it!

One thing that I have learned about being a parent is that we can not just be partying to your hearts content like we used to. This type of staying out late really gets reserved for major events like weddings and bachelorette parties. I have learned though that you can still have a successful night of kicking back a few if you organize before hand.

1. Always, always have a sober parent. When Nate and I have a big even to go to we make sure one of us is the designated sober parent and it stays that way.

2. Find a babysitter you can trust to be up late with your child. If I know that I am going to be going out and having a good time I make sure the baby is with people who I trust completely.

3. Watch how much you drink. If you are at the point where you cannot drive, throwing up, and feel like you are reliving your first two years of college, then maybe you should be thinking about this whole I can still go out and have a kid thing.

4. Leave the drinking gross amounts of alcohol to others. Drunk people, for the most part, make great people watching. Just watch them because they will provide a good amount of entertainment.

While I wasn't out late these are the awesome pictures I have gotten of Link:

Lincoln has also developed a new habit that I have about 7 pictures of so far. See if you can spot his new way of saying hello:

We also spent this memorial day weekend in the hospital with my sister who had serious complications with her asthma. She was recently diagnosed with pneumonia by her doctor at school and by the holiday weekend she had enough. Her doctor and nurse were amazing and I'm glad we got it taken care of!

Getting her breathing on!

Easy Baby

Lincoln spent all day today from 7am-2pm with me at work! We are so blessed that I have two part time jobs where I can bring my kid to work every day. My swim team, that I have been loyal to for four years, lets me bring Lincoln to work with me every day. That means he is going to be out at the pool from about 8:30am-12pm, every day Monday through Friday, starting the first week in June until the end of July. They are so accommodating that I even get to bring a swing and store in the concessions room. Then from end of July to November, I get to bring Lincoln to water polo practice from 3:00-5:30 five days a week, plus tournaments on the weekends. All I know is that this kid better like swimming and water polo or else his life is going to be pretty boring, in regards to sports, because I plan on coaching until I die!

As a quick practice run, I brought Lincoln to the swim meet today all by myself and he did so well. I got so many comments not only on his cuteness but how 'easy' he is. I'm not going to lie, and I hope I'm not shooting my self in the foot, but Lincoln is easy. He loves being passed around to other people, will sleep wherever, will eat wherever, and not fuss too much. One parent even told me not to have anymore children because the next one will probably be an absolute terror since Link is so well behaved. HA! I really just keep praying that it stays this way....

It was so nice and comforting knowing that a three hour practice is going to be nothing to this dude since he handled a 6 hour meet so well! Plus, he is much more enjoyable first thing in the morning.

I love working for my team and I love more so that they are family friendly. I'm so blessed to be working with a team that values me so much as a coach that they let me bring my kid to work! I also have so many parents that want to love on him and baby sit him while they wait for their kids to finish practice. Same thing goes for my high school coaching job.

In my coaching gear and looking tired after Saturdays meet.

In other news, Lincoln can roll over now! Yee haw!

Crazy hair and loves blowing spit bubbles. Such a boy!

Bath time after I got home on Saturday

More bad hair and spit bubbles.

Sleepy time

Playing video games with Uncle Zach.

With Daddy at Uncle Zach's section swim meet.
He got 2nd and 3rd overall!

Lincoln is easy and I will probably look back on this entry when he is a teenager and think oh gosh why didn't he just stay this easy!

Confessions of A New Mommy

Lincoln just passed the 3 month mark and I have learned a whole lot about how no mother or father is perfect. What I do know is that God gave us this baby.  We are the perfect parents for him. It doesn't mean we're perfect, just that we're a perfect match to Lincoln. It doesn't even matter how many silly mistakes I make, like bumping his head on the roof of the car, I'm still Lincoln's mom and Nate is his dad.

Here are a few examples of the accidents that have occurred in the Roos household as of last week:

1. Not changing Lincoln's diaper properly.

For about three days, Lincoln was leaking like crazy out of the top of his diaper. It was driving me nuts because he was constantly wet and I had to do a shit ton of laundry. Then I figured out why he was leaking. It was because I did not 'secure' his little wiener in the down position when putting on a new diaper. So for all of you new moms to boys out there, make sure the pee pee is down or else your house will become piss city for a bit.

2. Letting my son pee on his face.

That's right you read that properly. Lincoln has peed on his face when I was changing his diaper.
A few days ago I pulled off Lincoln's diaper and he immediately started peeing like a fire hose. Thankfully most of it landed on the floor or on the changing pad.  I figured he was done peeing, and I didn't want a puddle of piss on the floor by my feet.  Instead of finishing his diaper change, I bent down and wiped up the puddle. When I looked back up at Lincoln to finish his changing, he had peed all over his face and even in his mouth. He of course had the biggest smile ever because he saw me reappear, not even caring about the salty taste in his mouth. It was hilarious seeing my childs pee face with a huge smile, and we both just stood there and laughed/smiled. (Of course he received a bath after this incident).

3. Letting my child sit in a poo ridden jammies and diaper for about 40 minutes.

Yes Lincoln had a complete blow out, but he was happily playing and his jammies were thick enough I didn't know what the heck was going on. All I knew was that he was on his play mat and he was happy. Then Sheila began licking his behind. Yes, our dog was licking up the poo that had leaked out his jammies. I then picked Lincoln up, scolded Sheila, and just thought it was pee that had leaked out again since it was a tad wet.

I then took off his jammies to this sight:

Oh lord...help me now.
I immediately got my phone and took a picture of it to text to Nate. I just wrote this: "Here is how my morning is going, how about yours?" Nathan responded with: "That Baby!" Like Lincoln had just done something cute or something. Not cute, and still gives me the chills knowing that Sheila actually got some poo flavored licks in. (Of course he got a bath again after this.)

My mom also always asks for a picture of Lincoln each day doing something cute. I sent her this picture! HA!

4. Forgetting to pack an extra formula while going car shopping.

Nathan got a sweet new ride this weekend. We weren't planning on buying a car we just wanted to test drive a few models, so we only packed one bottle. Well we actually ended up buying a car, but were only prepared for a few hours out, not 6! Lincoln had already ate a bottle about 3 hours into the car shopping and about 3 hours later when we were about to sign papers he was hangry again. I then just rocked my child asleep while he was hungry. He survived and I fed him about an hour later.

Nate's slick new ride!

Nate and I are not perfect, but we're perfect for Lincoln. If you are a new mom and think you are not doing a good job, just think about my poo ridden morning and I'm sure it will make you feel better about your self.

Smiling in his shirt that his Marmy and Grandpa got for him while in Amsterdam.

Just being cute in overalls.
